Power and Performance
The M2 is equipped with a twin-turbo inline-six that gets 453 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It propels you to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds. This powertrain also features rear-wheel drive and either a standard six-speed manual or an available eight-speed automatic. The base M2 achieves a top speed of 155 mph, which you can push to 177 mph by adding the M Driver’s Package. Expect a quarter-mile time of just over 12 seconds at 118 mph.
Fine-tune the M2’s performance with 10 traction control settings, three transmission modes, and three stability control modes. You can adjust the car’s suspension, steering, and powertrain response and save two custom drive mode settings. The M2 also features front strut suspension with coil springs, multi-link rear suspension with coil springs, an electro-mechanical limited slip rear differential, and dual stainless steel exhaust with a dark chrome tailpipe finisher.
Interior Space and Features
The M2 comfortably accommodates up to four people. You’ll also have generous cargo space of nearly 14 cubic feet, which is well above average for a small luxury coupe. The cabin features Vernasca leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a synthetic suede door insert, and a sunroof.
Additional standard amenities include heated, power-adjustable front sport seats, a 40/20/40 split-folding rear bench seat for easy cargo loading, a cargo net, remote keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control with voice commands, and an illuminated locking glove box. You can upgrade the M2 with a heated steering wheel, high-grade bucket sport seats, carbon fiber interior accents, and a carbon fiber roof.
Infotainment Tech
The cockpit-style dash pairs a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with a 12.3-inch driver info screen. Built-in navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are also included, along with a standard Harman Kardon surround-sound system.
You can add tech upgrades such as a 5G hotspot and a head-up display that projects key data onto your windshield. The M2 features a standard drift coach, lap timer, and track drive mode, which you can control through the BMW app.
